Summary
Position Summary : Under limited supervision, the Clinical Expert (CNE) applies influence across the three spheres of patient / family, staff, and system to transform healthcare delivery.
The CNE maintains up to date and evidence based knowledge in area of expertise. Collaborates with other interdisciplinary / interprofessional health care professionals and service providers to ensure seamless, quality care across the continuum.
Exemplifies the Professional Practice Model. A key success factor is the ability to work collaboratively with all levels within the organization, across the LifeBridge system, and with our community partners.
She / he works under the direct supervision and direction of the assigned Director. Essential Functions : Direct Care / Clinical Practice- Direct interaction with patients and families to promote health or well-being and improve quality of life.
Consultation & direct patient care when advanced skills are needed. Liaise between the providers and staff to facilitate continuity of care.
Consultation- Patient, staff, or system-focused interaction between professionals in which the consultant is recognized as having specialized expertise and assists consultee with problem solving.
Systems Leadership- The CNE assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates care delivery models. In addition, CNE guides other healthcare providers in using these models Collaboration- Working jointly with others to optimize clinical outcomes.
The CNE collaborates at an advanced level by committing to authentic engagement and constructive patient, family, system, and population-focused problem-solving Coaching- Skillful guidance and teaching to advance the care of patients, families, groups of patients, and the profession of nursing.
Research- The work of thorough and systematic inquiry. Includes the search for, interpretation, and use of evidence in clinical practice and quality improvement, as well as active participation in the conduct of research.
Ethical Decision Making- Identifying, articulating, and taking action on ethical concerns at the patient, family, health care provider, and system levels.
Education- The CNE serves as educator for the assigned unit in the absence of a dedicated educator. In this situation, the CNE provides on-going education and educational functions based on the unit's educational processes.
Education Discipline : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with MSN preferred. Minimum of three years experience in specialty, along with minimum 5 years RN experience in an Inpatient setting is preferred.
