SUMMARY
The Procurement Agent is responsible for ensuring the timely and cost effective procurement of goods and services for the property.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with vendors and others to procure goods and services according the needs and budget of property.
- Researches and performs market analysis to identify potential suppliers and negotiate contracts.
- Collaborate with internal departments to determine purchasing needs and develop procurement strategies.
- Ensure compliance with company Internal Controls and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases and contracts.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers to establish and maintain positive relationships.
- Monitor inventory levels and make recommendations for inventory management.
- Evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations for improvement.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in procurement.
Provide excellent customer service and ensure purchasing needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist with budget planning and cost-saving initiatives.
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
- Responsible for maintaining a good attendance record in accordance with Prairie Flower Casino policies.
- Works the required schedule with some flexibility to meet the needs of a 24 / 7 business. Works physically onsite to work with the required documentation in performance of their responsibilities.
- Ensures all safety standards are met and possible safety hazards are quickly resolved.
- Must maintain appropriate Gaming License.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Minimum two years of experience in a procurement role required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills. A high level of organizational skills is required.
- Must be computer-literate with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience working with purchasing or other software preferred.
- Must have strong typing and 10-key skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and reports is necessary.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or questions from others within the company.
- Ability to effectively present and explain information to others in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in oral, written or diagram form.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
- This position is in an office setting and requires the ability to be at a desk for the majority of the workday.
- Uses hands to manipulate and sort documentation, paperwork and use office equipment, including keyboard and computer.
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Infrequent lifting required up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Sound levels within the office are normally low. May be required to access the casino daily where the noise level in the work environment may be loud.
