Fulfillment Associate

Full-time, hourly. We will also consider candidates interested in Part-Time, hourly.

An opportunity to work for the company founded by world-renowned illustrator J. Scott Campbell.

J. Scott Campbell Ltd. is seeking to expand its online fulfillment operations. Located in Denver, CO, our centralized warehouse fulfills online orders to worldwide customers, including JScottCampbell.com, and bulk shipping to our convention operations (B2B). Our fulfillment staff is at the forefront to ensure an accurate and timely experience for our customers. The team’s functions include, and are not limited to, order picking, packing, merchandise prep, pulling orders, shipping, and assisting with inventory tasks. The fulfillment team works closely with the inventory staff and the customer service staff to ensure we meet our highest standards.

Our ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and the ability to efficiently and effectively execute plans to meet our business needs.

Core Duties

  • Assist in maintaining a clean, orderly, and organized warehouse to promote safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Prepare merchandise for processing. This may involve tasks such as unwrapping shrink-wrapped books, assembling comics into bags and boards, and affixing seals and stickers.
  • Accurately package online orders to our high standards while meeting daily quotas and business needs.
  • Assist with receiving inventory shipments from distributors and publishers.
  • Perform merchandise quality control processes (inspection) as requested.
  • Assist with inventory tasks, including counting inventory.
  • Assist with moving merchandise, materials, equipment, and supplies using non-motorized warehouse equipment such as a pallet jack or pallet stacker.
  • Follow required work safety practices, including the use of proper protective equipment as needed. Report any facility or employee-related safety issues to management immediately.
  • Maintain accurate timesheets (Gusto).
  • Willingness to be cross-trained and moved to other areas as needed.
  • Must be willing and able to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Present a professional attitude and appearance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Quickly adapt to changes.
  • Ability to accurately and quickly execute plans within a team or individually.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to take direction from the direct supervisor, and at times, from executive management.
  • Ability to efficiently and accurately count inventory (counting single items in a box, counting quantities listed on boxes to establish a total, using calculators and spreadsheets).
  • Operates calmly under pressure during high-volume times.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized. We aim for 98% order fulfillment accuracy!
  • Must have a high sense of urgency while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work 25-40 hours a week. We strive to maintain an 8-hour workday for our warehouse staff.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communication with peers, supervisors, and executive management.
  • Have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and be a team player.

    • Experience Desired

  • Prior experience with shipping software is preferred. We use Ordoro.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Suite, especially spreadsheets, is preferred. We use WorkplaceGSuite (Google).
  • Experience using email and instant messaging apps is required. We use Slack.
  • Experience working in a warehouse environment in a fulfillment position is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of, or willingness to learn to use, project management applications. We use Asana.

    • Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift and carry 30+ pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation, and stand / walk for extended periods of time, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Can consistently maneuver a warehouse throughout a day (8 hours) without physical fatigue.
  • This job requires physical agility and stamina.
  • The employee is required to stand for most of the day.
  • Have good manual dexterity and the ability to perform repetitive tasks.

    • Work Environment

  • The employee will be in a warehouse environment while performing this job.
  • The noise level and temperature are typically moderate.

    • Benefits

    This position offers an hourly rate, available as either part-time or full-time, plus quarterly bonuses. Full-time permanent employment includes health benefits (medical) and 2 weeks of paid vacation. 401K
