Geomet is seeking to fill an Industrial Diesel Mechanic position.

Summary / Objective :

Under limited supervision, the Industrial Diesel Mechanic position performs work of considerable difficulty in the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment;

conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and oversees preventive maintenance program; performs related work as assigned.

Essential Functions :

• Provides emergency / unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnoses, rebuilds and repairs Mobile and stationary processing equipment.
• Performs inspections and preventive maintenance of Trucks, Trailers, and other associated equipment.
• Prepares and maintains records and reports.
• Oversees and maintains the Preventative Maintenance Program.
• Complies with OSHA safety and health rules. Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
• Properly follows company safety procedures. Brings problems to the attention of the Maintenance & Processing Manager or Leadership Team.
• Follows daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area.
• Attends all company required safety meetings.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

Required Education and Experience :

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical training; exposure to high-speed equipment.
• 3-5 years of experience and / or training in vehicle / construction equipment repair and maintenance shop or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications :

Experience with acetylene and electric arc welding.
