Role
The Director of Sales will play a pivotal role in building the Higher Education faculty model in the JoVE organization, overseeing the regional sales team responsible for selling our JoVE learning adoptions and subscriptions.
This role requires a strategic leader with a track record of building high-performing sales teams, developing and executing sales strategies, and achieving revenue targets.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to the regional sales team, setting clear goals and expectations.
- Develop and implement sales strategies and tactics to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
- Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of Sales Specialists, providing coaching and support to help them achieve their targets.
- Analyze sales data and market trends to forecast sales performance, identify opportunities, and address challenges proactively.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key higher education stakeholders, including C-suite executives, deans, and department heads.
- Collaborate with other departments, including marketing, product development, and customer success, to align sales efforts with company goals.
- Define and monitor key performance metrics for the sales team, regularly reviewing progress and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and implement training programs to ensure the sales team has the knowledge and skills necessary to excel.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and changes in the higher education landscape to inform strategic decisions.
- Gather and relay customer feedback to inform product enhancements and improvements.
Requirements :
- A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field
- 5+ years of direct experience managing a sales team
- Proven track record of success in sales leadership roles in the higher education technology sector
- Proven ability to drive the sales process from start to close
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic planning abilities
- Ability to develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies
- Data-driven decision-making mindset
- Willingness to travel as required
