Rv Service Shop Foreman/Master Technician With Leadership Skills

RESPONSIBILITIES :

We are seeking a diligent Master Technician with Leadership to oversee the day-to-day technician / shop operations.

In this role, you will supervise all technicians, oversee the management and maintenance of equipment, and ensure the efficiency of operations / technicians.

You will also be required to manage shop supply inventory and enforce safety regulations.

To ensure success as a Master Technician with Leadership, you should be highly organized and have excellent communication skills.

Ultimately, a top-notch shop foreman should be able to anticipate and address hindrances to operational efficiency.

DUTIES :

Lead by example in attitude, demeanor, workmanship, and work ethics.

Be a leader, not a follower.

Supervising and training all technicians.

Main shop technicians and PDI.

• Overseeing work to anticipate, detect, and address factors that impede operations.
• Dispatch repair orders to the appropriate technicians.

Main shop and PDI.

• Follow up with technicians to assist if needed and to improve efficiencies.
• Enforcing safety regulations and protocols.
• Meeting with management to deliver feedback and develop work optimization strategies.
• Implementing strategies to optimize workflow and operational efficiency with manager's approval.
• Ensuring that all equipment and machinery are properly operated and maintained.
• Monitoring shop supply inventory levels and replenishing supplies as needed with management approval.
• Quality control on work performed in the service department.

QC all repair order lines individually to maintain quality of workmanship and to meet customers expectations - Main shop and PDI.

Inspect daily PDI’s for completion the day before delivery.

Cleanliness, completion of requested work, readiness of the unit.

Personally guarantee units to be customer / delivery ready.

• Maintain a clean shop environment with technicians.
• Coordinating unit flow in / out of the repair facility to maximize efficiency.
• Participate in classroom education / hands-on lab.
• Timeliness of turning in completed repair orders to service advisors to be coded, finalized within the same working month.

Essential functions

• Inspect, assess and diagnose required repairs and provide an accurate list of all replacement parts to parts procurement personnel.
• Provide a wide variety of exterior repairs to units (may include : repair or replacement of metal, walls, fiberglass, roofs, decals, etc.

Grease and pack bearings, adjust brakes, repair & adjust axles.) Performs repair, replacement or adjustment services on RV frames (may include : repair, replacement or adjustment of RV frames).

Provide wide variety of interior repairs to units (may include cabinetry, sidewalls, ceiling panels (including raters and insulation), lights, plumbing parts & fixtures, soft goods, floor members (plywood / blandex, floor studding, insulation), floors, carpeting, linoleum, trim, etc.

Completes rebuild and slideout adjustments.

• Perform repairs or replacement of vendor produced appliances and systems.
• Perform repairs or replacement of electrical (12 volt and 110 volt), plumbing, LP components and systems.
• Perform safety inspection of all components & systems.
• Add comments or additional repairs to open work orders with accurate times and materials used in repair processes.
• May provide training to apprentices / lesser skilled service technicians.

Experience / Knowledge

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus 2 years applied trades training.
• 5-7 years related experience.
• Requires the ability to perform a variety of repairs on all types of RV products including knowledge of installation and repair of electronic control systems.
• Read and understand engineering prints and drawings.
• Forklift experience is desirable (Valley training is required when forklift operation is required for position).
• RVTI level 1 or higher certification.

We also train this course in house.

We can make exceptions for the right individual.

You will be required to pass level 1 within a specific time period.

Previous Leadership experience.

We are not looking for a manager, we are looking for a leader!

• A skills assessment will be periodically conducted utilizing the Factory Service Technician skills matrix.

Work Requirements

• This position may require working in extremes in temperature & environment while performing moderately physical activity.
• Requires ability to occasionally travel between field locations.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls;

and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.

• This position is a full-time position, which may require some flexibility in hours & days worked (including Saturdays, as needed).
• Regular attendance is required.
