POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking motivated and driven Technicians with all levels of knowledge, experience and skill set to perform maintenance, diagnostics and repairs of commercial vehicles and associated components for all makes and models.

Valid Drivers’ License required; CDL license preferred.

Salary range for Technicians (depending on knowledge and experience) can range from $45,000-$150,000+

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with company and factory standards.
• Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
• Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Communicates with service advisor / leadman immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Participates in manufacturer sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
• Any other duties as outlined by the Service Manager or Shop Foreman.
• Maintains and is accountable for all company-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.

KNOWLEDGE AND ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS

Employee safety is important at RWC. The technician position is a safety sensitive position and falls under the requirements of RWC Drug and Alcohol policy.

• Mechanical aptitude - we have a training program for apprentice technicians. If you can take anything apart and put it back together let us know.
• Hands on experience as a gas or diesel technician preferably with dealership experience
• Navistar Engine, Cummins Engine Certification preferred.
• ASE Certification preferred.
• Diagnostic skill / experience & attention to detail.
• Considerable knowledge of the design, adjustment, operations, maintenance, and repair of diversified mechanical and electrical equipment including light, medium, and heavy diesel engines.

Must be able to successfully pass a background check and a pre-hire drug and alcohol test.
