Description POSITION SUMMARY The Graphic Designer is a key player within our design department servicing our digital assets.
This position is an expert in assessing digital files for accuracy once they that been processed through our internal workflow system.
This position will assess new and existing orders, then work alongside the Production team to ensure accuracy before going to print.
The Graphic Designer has a balance of technical skills and a deep understanding of artwork creation working in Illustrator, Adobe and Photoshop.
This full-time role will report to the Commercialization Manager at our manufacturing facility Golden Valley, MN. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for setting up final production artwork according to printing specifications Expert knowledge of converting PMS colors to CMYK, and spot colors Reviews artwork for printed samples and production, suggests design modifications for production on Digital printers for ink optimization.
Assists in catching issues regarding "high risk" designs that potentially could slow down the manufacturing process. Troubleshoots art file or cut file complications, RIP software issues, and Automation Engine workflow errors.
Aids in the process of testing new printing methods / substrates and communicates these to the Digital Manager and Graphic Design team.
Advises management as to manufacturing and printing best practices and recommends adjustments to SOP's. Utilizes the full Adobe Creative suite including but not limited to : Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat.
Other duties, as assigned REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS 2 + years of experience in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign Knowledge of digital printing RIP software Ability to read color using a spectrometer and direct operators to push or pull CMYK values accordingly to the Delta-E Knowledge of printing processes PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Knowledge of Esko Automation Engine workflows Knowledge of G7 certification process Experience as a graphic artist, pre-press operator, or production artist Familiarity of the corrugated industry and POP displays PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OFFICE : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
