Job Summary
Granite Automotive is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Nissan Certified Automotive Service Technician for our Rapid City, SD location.
The Automotive Service Technician will be responsible for providing the highest level of service / repair on automotive vehicles in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate will have a firm understanding of automotive engineering and repair processes, as well as a professional certification in their field.

Responsibilities
- Promotes the dealership by presenting a professional image, a positive attitude, and a clean work area.
- Road tests vehicles to ensure repairs are completed properly.
- Suggests additional work that is needed to the Service Advisor so the customer may be notified.
- Completes service and repair assignments correctly, to pass quality inspections or test drives.
- Collects all necessary information before requesting parts (e.g., model year, etc.).
- Maintains sufficient personally-owned tools; keeps tools in good working order.
- Notifies service advisor if delays are expected.
- Maintains cleanliness of the customer's vehicle.
- Promotes a productive working relationship with others.
- Provides clear and legible record of service completed for both customer and dealership use.
- Has an approachable style; fosters open communication through active listening.
- Assists Service Advisors, if necessary, to explain completed repairs to a customer.
- Assists other technicians when needed.
- Performs preventive maintenance, cleaning, and repairs on dealership tools and equipment;
- ensures the facility is clean and organized at all times.
- Performs factory warranty repairs according to established procedures.
- Stays up-to-date on the latest technical services through training, bulletins, campaigns, etc.
- Follows safety rules and regulations including OSHA and hazardous waste regulations.
Requirements
- Education, training and / or state / national certifications should demonstrate the possession of the knowledge and skills stated above.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Valid in-state driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Ability to use computer and calculator.
- Ability to communicate well orally and in writing with customers, vendors and other contacts.
- Lifting to 70 lbs .
