Analyst II - Consumer Loan Review

The Opportunity

The analyst II is responsible for the execution of assigned reviews relating to Ally's Loan Review function as well as for demonstrating skills in assessing consumer lending risks and credit decisioning, assisting with the development of testing approaches, making initial determinations of reportable issues, and providing analysis and monitoring of loan portfolios.

The analyst II completes work in accordance with loan review methodology, applicable standards, and schedules.

The Work Itself

  • Learn Ally's Consumer Loan Review approach, methodology and tools / technology.
  • Assist in the development of planned test procedures for consumer loan review projects.
  • Execute and document assigned test procedures.
  • Complete testing in its entirety while meeting timelines for each review.
  • Document work papers in accordance with Loan Review policy and standards.
  • Identify issues resulting from testing including identifying root cause and risk impacts.
  • Evaluate the completeness of management's corrective action plans and ensure issues identified during reviews are remediated through management implementation.
  • Maintain regular communication with Loan Review management, participate in meetings and interact with Business Line(s).
  • Develop and maintain proactive working relationships with the appropriate Business Line, Independent Risk Management, and Audit Services personnel across Ally.
  • Perform ad hoc projects as assigned by Loan Review management.
  • Participate in the preparation and analysis of Loan Review's continuous monitoring program. Analyze trends within the lending portfolios and credit related processes and provide assessment of the asset quality.

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience within a credit related role such as credit underwriting, risk management, or auditing credit / credit related processes.
  • Understanding of risk management concepts and key performance drivers within consumer lending portfolios.
  • Familiarity with risk and control concepts.
  • Data skills (such as SQL, SAS, Python, Power BI, Tableau) not required, but considered a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management skills : detail-oriented, deadline driven, self-motivated, and organized.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Critical thinking, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to travel is required (up to 10%).
