Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Possession of an active, unencumbered, unrestricted and valid Louisiana registered nurse license to practice professional nursing or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC / eNLC) state plus an active, valid Louisiana Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license or temporary permit.

Provide clinical services to clients at the Capital Area Human Services District's Behavioral Health Clinics.

• Performs psychiatric evaluations on behavioral health and co-occurring mental health and addiction patients.
• Interviews patient to elicit presenting problem and history, make diagnoses and initial treatment plan.
• Complete progress notes and sign at the time of service in compliance with charting and billing requirements.
• Provide crisis intervention and evaluation when needed
• Complete medical records and other documentation in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with policy and procedure
• Prescribes psychotropic medications, modifies medication treatment as clinically indicated.
• Work with other clinical staff to ensure necessary and appropriate resource linkage
