The Insurance Agent Trainee at Farmers Insurance - Denver Metro District serves as the liaison between the agency and carriers.
Responsibilities include maintaining current knowledge of carrier products and appetite and sourcing products to meet complex coverage needs;
preparing submissions and proposals for new and renewal accounts; and communicating with the account team on market trends, relevant products, and account activities.
This is a 6 month training program for candidates that are preparing to launch an Insurance Agency and Financial Services Agency with Farmers Insurance in Colorado!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain current and relevant knowledge of the insurance marketplace and act as an internal market resource and liaison.
Meet with carriers to learn about new products, appetites, and service enhancements. Build and maintain relationships with carriers and wholesalers.
Meet with the account team to evaluate client needs and select appropriate markets. Provide relevant information on products and services, programs, and carrier appetites and guide the account strategy.
Provide creative solutions for coverage placement.
- Evaluate risks and determine appropriate coverage and pricing terms to meet client needs.
- Manage the submission process. Review drafts to ensure accuracy, send submissions to selected markets, and conduct follow-ups.
- Negotiate the best terms and prices and obtain revised and final quotes.
- Compare and evaluate quotes with the account team and select quotes for presentation to clients.
- Oversee preparation of proposals.
- Document all marketing activities in the agency management system and communicate with the account team on status.
- Communicate with appropriate carriers on the outcome of proposal meetings
- Perform other duties as requested.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but not required
- Insurance Licenses must be obtained before being hired
- Demonstrate commitment to continued education through designation programs
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Extremely organized
- Strong attention to detail & follow-through
- Must be able to work independently, on a team, and under pressure
- Analytical-technically oriented
