JOB SUMMARY :
The PPW SUD Adult Peer Support Specialist provides peer-based support services to individuals with substance use disorders and / or co-occurring mental illness.
This role involves offering encouragement, sharing lived experiences, and supporting individuals through their recovery journey.
The Peer Support Specialist works collaboratively to assist clients, their families, and work with the treatment team to enhance recovery outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Education : High School Diploma or GED required
- Age Requirement : Must be 21 years of age
- Experience : Past or present consumer of mental health or substance abuse services with at least one year of sufficient progression toward recovery.
Awareness of the importance of recovery in living with a mental illness or addictions problem. Experience working directly with people in a service-oriented field is beneficial but not required.
