Position Summary

This key role within our Editorial team is an opportunity for a practitioner in the transportation industry to apply and share their knowledge with others.
In this role, you will provide expertise and consultation to internal and external customers via multiple communication outlets, fostering contacts and bringing customer perspectives back to inform business decisions.
Incumbents will be required to develop and maintain in-depth DOT / FMCSA knowledge and will be responsible for developing and maintaining quality, accurate content used in products and services.
Job Responsibilities
- Presents at Live Events, tradeshows, webinars, and other customer-facing events, including taking the lead role on writing and delivering these presentations.
- Establishes and develops agency, industry and other relevant contacts through correspondence, phone, and direct personal contact.
Capitalizes on contacts to bring unique and informed perspectives back to the business. Fosters relationships with industry associations.
- Researches, writes, reviews and / or edits material for guides / manuals, handbooks, newsletters and on-line services.
- Provides regulatory knowledge, product knowledge and training support to internal and external customers, presents webinars and live presentations, and writes articles.
- Suggests new products / services and revisions of existing products / services.
- Actively seeks to stay current with trends and specific developments in assigned subject areas to facilitate the above responsibilities.
This may include serving on committees within national and / or state trucking associations or other industry-specific associations, e.g., CVSA, NPTC, ATA.
Qualifications
Experience :
- 5+ years of experience as a practitioner in the transportation industry preferred; experience as a researcher, writer or editor in a deadline-oriented publishing or research environment in the transportation field would be considered.
- Experience developing written materials.
- Experience developing and delivering educational / training programs.
Education :
- Bachelor's Degree; in lieu of a bachelor's degree, two years of additional related experience may be considered.
- Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) certification preferred.
Computer Skills :
- Must be proficient in the use of a PC and MS Office Suite.
- Experience with Content Management Systems preferred.
Other Requirements :
- Broad-based knowledge / expertise within the transportation industry.
- Professional communication skills - written, verbal and presentation.
- Ability to research, analyze and interpret information from a variety of sources.
- Ability to plan projects and meet deadlines, working both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to effectively utilize technology / tools to communicate / deliver training in multiple formats.
- Ability to assess audience’s engagement and understanding of material and to adjust content and presentation style as appropriate.
Physical Requirements
Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time.
Frequent travel to industry and training events.
Travel Expectation : 20% - 25%

The compensation range for this role is $69,320.00 to $86,650.00 which varies depending on factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s overall experience and geographic location.
