Job Overview

The Mission and Ministry Coordinator advances these aims through the development and execution of programs, events and retreats for faculty, staff, and students around Ignatian spirituality and the university’s Catholic and Jesuit mission;

and provides essential administrative support to the office of the Vice President for Mission and Ministry.

As well, they facilitate the use of the university retreat center, including reservations, contracts and policies, and works with facilities and the property caretaker on operational needs;

ensure compliances with county restrictions including communication and reports to the country officials; and oversee food services arrangements, relations, and communications.

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation

The Mission and Ministry Coordinator - a member of a centralized administrative team under the direction of the Associate Director for Interreligious Programs and Operations - provides direct programmatic support to the Director for Mission Engagement and to the Director of Ignatian Programs, and administrative support to the Special Assistant to the Vice President for Mission & Ministry.

They are accountable to the Associate Director in the coordination of the retreat center; work closely with other program staff and are supported by student worker(s) which they manage;

and interact regularly with senior university administrators, faculty and staff in the course of programs or events.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field - for Master’s degree
  • 2 to 3 years of administrative, event-planning, or programmatic work experience, preferably in a higher education institution
  • Educational or work experience with religious contexts, including basic understanding of Ignatian spirituality and the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits)
  • Ability to work closely with leaders and students from many faith traditions, including experience navigating religiously or culturally diverse spaces
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate complex organizational environments; ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and balance independent and collaborative work strategies;

and creativity and attention to detail

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and basic Excel
  • Some evening and weekend availability for programs and retreats, scheduled in consultation with supervisor

Pay Range :

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is :

$20.16 - $31.30

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
