Job Description

The Product Manager of Cellular Solutions will lead our efforts to partner with cellular service providers and other companies that offer solutions that compliment the company’s offering.

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead a no-direct report team of engineers through a fast-paced environment responsible for product development activities from inception to production.

Coach, teach, mentor team members in a manner which builds trust, collaboration, and breaks down barriers.

  • Manage relationships with cellular partners and other solutions providers. The primary goal of the Product Manager, Cellular Solutions will be to successfully build and manage vendor partner relationships, and work with the company’s engineering and development teams to prioritize and complete integrated solutions that alarm dealers and integrators are seeking.
  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with engineering, upper management, and external customers. The Product Manager, Cellular Solutions will effectively communicate with both internal and external customers providing clear direction, planning, clarification, guidance, decisions, status, and issue resolution.

Success criteria for this position will be submitting and presenting to senior management weekly product updates and detailed specifications.

  • Develops a deep understanding of the company’s solutions by working with product managers, visiting with alarm dealers and integrators, and identifying companies that provide hardware and service solutions that are complementary to those offered by the company.
  • Participates in dealer visits and discussions to identify and fill solution gaps while generating new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth.
  • Conducts market research that includes customers, competitors, employees, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Creates buy-in for cellular product offerings and an integrated solutions vision both internally and with key external partners.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience working for or with cellular network providers
  • Current CPM (Certified Product Manager)
  • Experience working in Jira and Confluence

Required Experience / Skills

  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done. Organized and adept at meeting deadlines.
  • 5+ years of Product Management, Program Management or Vendor Management experience, in a technology-rich industry.
  • Previous experience managing relationships with vendors and partnering companies that offer complimentary products and services.
  • Track record of managing all aspects of a successful product or program throughout its lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication skills written, verbal, presentations to large and small technical audiences.
  • Previous experience communicating requirements to engineering teams and business leaders and managing requirements modifications during product development.
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams in a business setting.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to create long-term strategic gameplans while staying on top of critical issues that arise day to day.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.

Education

College degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field from a competitive school with strong academic performance.
