Position Purpose
The Lead Data Steward plays a pivotal role in shaping our regional data management infrastructure and strategy. The main responsibilities of this position are : to lead the program data management process using global best practices, to coordinate with the Data Stewardship Council at the enterprise level, to collaborate with the Group Global Data Governance Team, to oversee the program-wide ownership of business data elements, and to make critical data management decisions for the program.
Objectives include but are not limited to :
Building a model data management process for the pricing and marketing teams
Establishing the processes around data ownership (SME’s) with data source / use / destination documented, validated and maintained for all program data sets (Customer, Cost, Company & Market data)
Ensuring all data transformations are documented and can be validated
Aligning and documenting all KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), metrics, or calculations used in defined data sets
Identifying data risks through gap analysis and leading data risk mitigation planning and execution
Demonstrating organizational change leadership through disciplined approach to best-in- class data management

Measures
This role will measure various aspects related to data quality, governance, and compliance to ensure that data assets are managed effectively and aligned with organizational objectives.
Some key metrics and indicators that a Lead Data Steward may measure include :
Data Quality Metrics : Accuracy, Completeness, Consistency, Timeliness and Validity
Data Governance Metrics : Adherence to Data Governance Policies, and Data Access Controls
Business Impact Metrics : Data-driven decision-making, Revenue generation, and Cost reduction
Stakeholder Satisfaction : Stakeholder feedback and engagement
Major / Key Accountabilities
Data Governance and Compliance - Collaboration with Global Data Governance Council, managing compliance, establishing regional standards to comply with industry standards and implementation of data quality frameworks
Data Architecture and Modelling - Contribution and collaboration with the program enterprise architect ensuring that the architectural designs align with business requirements, data governance policies and industry standards.
Data Strategy and Planning - Thought leadership in the organization’s overall data strategy and formation of business objectives.
Understands and applies the strategic priorities and needs of the organization. Identifies opportunities for leveraging data as an asset, and advocating for investment into data management capabilities and initiatives
Data Risk Management - Identifies potential risks to data sets, quality, security vulnerabilities, privacy concerns regulatory compliance risks, conducts risk assessments to communicate and track data-related risks, provides solutions, and orchestrates facilitation of efforts to mitigate future risks through decision-making and leveraging project teams working with the data
Data Integration - Collaborate and lead decision-making with integration project leads and stakeholders related to the program, provide guidance on data mapping, and data exchange formats to ensure interoperability across different platforms and environments.
Master Data (Lifecycle) Management - Defines, creates, and manages the data lifecycles of the focus area project, establishing processes and procedures, managing data changes, updates and approvals, ensuring that all changes are documented
Data Analytics and Visualization - Creates recommendations and collaborates with Sales Operations and / or Data Science teams to create data governance and data security visualizations / dashboards to demonstrate progress on the reduction of risk related to action taken to manage source data and the integrations impacting the organization
Data Security and Privacy - Creates and Implements data security and privacy measures to protect master data from unauthorized access for source systems, defining access controls, in accordance with industry standards
Stakeholder Management and Communication - Organizes and engages business stakeholders to understand their master data requirements and priorities, providing training and support to other data owners, and fosters a culture of data stewardship and accountability
Change Management, Leadership and Continuous Improvement - Works with Change Management to develop impacts of change in data management, managing data migration and conversion processes, monitoring post-implementation data impacts, and leveraging insights gained from learnings to refine the regional data governance practices / management policies

Qualifications
Essential Qualifications :
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
Strong understanding of Data Management techniques and how they are used to influence data quality
Desirable Qualifications :
Solid understanding of cloud platforms such and experience with related services
CIMP, CDMP, CISA, CDS, CAP, TOGAF, AWS Certified Big Data, CIPP
Experience
Experience setting up a framework for business data
Proven experience in a leadership role, managing and mentoring a team of data engineers
Experience in Data Analysis and reporting
Experience in data management, data governance, or related field
Experience with data governance tools and technologies (e.g., Collibra, Informatica Axon)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience in data risk management or data risk identification, auditing, or assessment
Experience in process management, design / redesign
Strong understanding of business processes, documentation, and role / capability / resource requirements to support data integrity, KPI’s to measure quality, and data lifecycle management
Familiarity with technology typically used to support MDM and / or large data validation, conversion, & migration efforts typically associated with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) implementations
