In addition, as a member of the Perkins Coie LLP professional support staff team, this position is responsible for promoting and maintaining the goodwill and reputation of the firm.
In this capacity, the Paralegal is expected to maintain the highest level of professional conduct and confidentiality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Understand the substantive, technical, and legal issues of a case and contribute effectively to the overall case strategy.
Make relevancy calls and decisions about what information / documents are needed for your case. Contribute to accurate reporting to your case team regarding the status of your discovery efforts and provide meaningful suggestions / solutions to the team.
Possess a solid understanding of litigation and the rules of civil procedure, including a solid understanding of the rules and standing orders of the various courts and judges.
Will provide formal and informal training, coaching, and mentorship to team members, new or less-tenured paralegals, and paralegal assistants.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree and 7-10 years of paralegal experience is required.
- Oregon trial experience required.
- Paralegal certificate is preferred.
- Experience with automated litigation support software is required.
This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision insurance, accrued paid time off plan starting at 20 days annually, personal medical and parental leave, up to ten paid holidays, and family care benefits.
