Brain Balance Achievement Centers are specialized learning centers helping students grade K-12 who struggle with academic, behavioral and social issues.
At Brain Balance, we work with children who have neurobehavioral disabilities such as but not limited to : ADHD, Autism, OCD, Dyslexia, Sensory Integration, Processing Disorder, Impulsiveness and many other issues.
We offer a comprehensive, non-medical program that combines physical and sensory exercises with cognitive skills training and healthy nutrition.
At Brain Balance we treat the whole child with an individualized program designed to improve the weaknesses and sustain strengths for a fuller quality of life.
Sensory Motor / Academic Coach
Coaches must have a desire to work with children, helping and motivating them to succeed. Coaches must be patient, kind, and be able to employ behavior management in a fun and creative way.
They must coach and assist the child through their individualized session making sure their time at Brain Balance is a positive one.
The coach is responsible for leading students through their daily activities in a 1 : 2 setting. This position requires motivated individuals that will guide and assist students through various physical and sensory exercises, as well as cognitive / academic training that stimulate a specific hemisphere of the child's brain.
Responsibilities
- Follow the program protocols precisely
- Motivate students to do their best at all times
- Be patient with children who have neurobehavioral disorders
- Use effective behavioral modification techniques on a daily basis
- Interpret test results accurately
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records
- Score sessions accurately
- Work as a team member
- Be able to monitor and lead more than one child at a time
- Ensure a positive and caring environment for all students
- Maintain student confidentiality
- Maintain a professional demeanor at all times
- Be able to implement lessons in reading, math, writing, phonics, and word reading
Skills and Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education, PT, OT, Sports Science, Exercise Physiology
- Excellent customer service mindset
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Team player
- Outgoing and confident personality
- Ability to work with challenging children
- Flexible schedule, available evenings and Saturdays
- Creative
- Patient and kind towards children with special needs
Hours and Scheduling
Part-time position, M-F 3 : 00-8 : 00 PM. Alternate hours may be available.
This position starts at $15.00 per hour and will pay more for relevant experience.
