About The Position
Job Title : CT Technologist Job Specialty : Diagnostic Imaging Job Duration : Full Time Shift : Days, Evenings Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Minimum of 1 year of Radiology experience, or completion of an accredited CT program License : DE RRT Certification Certifications : ARRT Registered Technologist, Basic Life Support Must-Have : Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology Job Description : Under the direction of the Site Manager and CT Scan Supervisor, demonstrate competency and actively function in CT / General Radiology procedures.
Prepare procedure room and patient for all studies. Properly disinfect all equipment after each patient, following cleaning policies and protocols.
Manage patient flow for efficient daily operations.- Educate patients regarding the ordered procedure and answer any related questions.
Obtain patient history and written consent for exams. Verify patient information and check for appropriate ICD-9 / 10 codes.
Perform procedures in accordance with established protocols. Position patients and select appropriate equipment necessary for the procedure, considering the age and physical capabilities of the patient.
Monitor patients during procedures; notify the Radiologist of any reactions or problems.- Demonstrate competency in all general diagnostic imaging equipment in CT.
Ensure quality images for all completed procedures prior to releasing the patient by reviewing films or sending images to the PACS System.
Carry out duties and assume responsibility for portions of the quality assurance program as directed by the equipment vendors.
Maintain competence with HIS, RIS, PHS, and PACS.- Run a pending work report daily to ensure all exams have been properly charged.
Track and report PACS and HIS errors following the QA policy.- Maintain adequate supplies. Responsible for stocking the room, as assigned, at the beginning of each shift and throughout the day.
Report all items that fall below par level to the designated person.- Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
Additional Information : This position does not require bilingual capabilities or holiday coverage. The job seeks individuals who can work efficiently and effectively within a team, while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
