Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator in Heavy Civil construction.
In-depth understanding of heavy civil construction materials, methods, and regulations.
Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software, including :
- HCSS HeavyBid
- HCSS HeavyJob
- BidNet Estimator
- Viewpoint Estimating
- Primavera
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Adept at working both independently and as part of a team.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
You may stand out even more with :
- Experience with building information modeling (BIM) software.
- Certification from professional organizations like the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) International.
- Experience in a specific type of heavy civil project, such as roads, mining, bridges, or water and wastewater systems.
Knowledge and Skills :
- As a Heavy Civil Estimator, you should have a strong grasp of the following :
- Cost engineering principles.
- Risk management.
- Scheduling.
- Procurement.
