Mental Health Clinician - Emergency Department

Work Schedule :

80% FTE, days and evenings, The provider would work mainly 5 : 30 pm - 12 : 00 am shifts, with potential day time shift on the weekends.

You will work at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

Pay :

• This position may be eligible for an $8000 sign on bonus.
• Salary range reflects .8 FTE
• Additional stipend for working evening shift

We are seeking a Mental Health Clinician - Emergency Department to :

• Provide diagnostic assessment and treatment to patients and their families presenting to the emergency department and on the inpatient units with mental health crisis / concerns.
• Work closely with the Emergency Department team in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Work closely with the Psychiatry Consult-Liaison and on-call Psychiatry teams on safety and admission-related decisions.

Each person who enters the Emergency Department doors with a mental health crisis receives services meticulously tailored to their unique needs.

Education

Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or other behavioral health related field Required

Work Experience :

1 year of experience providing evidence-based treatments for a variety of mental health and behavioral diagnoses for children, adolescents, and adults Required

1 year of crisis management skills in hospital, clinic, or emergency department, crisis center counseling, Psychiatric Emergency Services, or Crisis Stabilization unit preferred Preferred

Licenses and Certifications :

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Upon Hire Required or
• Licensed Professional Counselor Upon Hire Required or
• Licensed Marriage / Family Therapist Upon Hire Required and
• CPR / BLS certification Upon Hire Required
