Key ResponsibilitiesReview inpatient health records and assign appropriate ICD10 diagnosis and procedure codesIssue physician query forms to clarify documentation for accurate code assignmentsApply technical medical record knowledge to data gathering and analysis projectsRequired Qualifications, Training, and EducationPrior working experience with Inpatient Procedural Coding including ICD10 PCS is requiredCompletion of an Associate Degree in Health Information Management or equivalent program with emphasis in coding is requiredRHIT accreditation and / or certification in coding by a recognized professional organization required within 18 months of hirePrevious applicable experience is beneficialHigh level of resourcefulness and initiative is essential
