The School of Chemistry are looking to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate chemical assembly and single-molecule detection of transmembrane processes (Cockroft / Horrocks groups)
This post is full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
Your skills and attributes for success :
- The successful applicant will have, or be close to being awarded, a PhD in Chemistry, Biophysics, or a related discipline (Desirable).
- You are a synthetic supramolecular chemist, membrane (bio)chemist, OR an expert in single-molecule detection methods (e.
g. fluorescence microscopy and / or patch-clamp electrophysiology).
- Will possess a deep interest in transmembrane processes at the interface of chemistry and biophysics.
- Collaborate across research groups within Edinburgh and internationally.
- Excellent communication and written skills, with experience in preparing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
