SUMMARY

Provide quality instruction aligned to the state and national standards. Use a variety of assessment strategies - diagnostic, formative and summative, to inform instructional decisions and increase student self-management of learning. Rigorous inquiry-based learning tasks engage students in deep content of the discipline as well as the habits of scholarship. May be required to work as a member of the campus STEM team to ensure quality integrated instruction across disciplines.

Through MYP, we provide academically rigorous instruction in all classes and supportive systems to help all students thrive. Teachers collaborate on curriculum development in ways that help students construct their own knowledge and make connections between concepts and the real world during lessons and authentic assessments. As a teacher in our school, we expect you to collaborate with others, to write and teach MYP units, use best-practices in teaching strategies, grade with rubrics and project-based assessments and differentiate for the needs of all learners.

As part of the Middle Years Programme (MYP), design challenges all students to :

• apply practical and creative thinking skills to solve design problems
• explore the role of design in both historical and contemporary contexts
• consider their responsibilities when making design decisions and taking action.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

A valid Minnesota teaching license or proof of pending approved licensure.
