Our client a fullservice building automationand controls contractor is seeking a dynamic Branch Manager to leadand manage the Controls Business in a designated area / region.
Thisindividual will be responsible for hiring and leading a dedicatedteam of Project Managers Project Engineers Design Engineers andField Personnel ensuring the engineering quality cost estimationsales strategy work scope documentation prejob planning projectmanagement and final profitability of their projects.
Responsibilities
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels to meetterritorial and technical requirements.
- Monitorproposal and bid activity levels in the main business segmentsfocusing on ownerdirect and contractormanaged accounts (RetrofitRepairs Maintenance and Integration) for controlsopportunities.
- Assign leads to the appropriateProject Manager based on prior customer relationship geographicalterritory and technical skills.
- Identify andfacilitate training for direct reports using both internal andexternal resources.
- Interface and collaboratewith Field and Operations management andpersonnel.
- Assist in problemsolving conflictresolution and bill collecting with consistency andtimeliness.
- Prepare periodic performanceappraisals and counseling memoranda forpersonnel.
- Participate in customer meetings andpresentations as required.
- Provide directionand career path development opportunities to all levels ofpersonnel.
- Have regular presence in the localoffice for sales and technical support.
- Reviewestimates pricing proposals and nonstandard contractual documentson large or risky transactions.
- Review andanalyze monthly financial statements for the assignedarea.
- Prospect qualify and secure new projectsand business opportunities for the controlsdepartment.
- Perform estimating proposalgeneration and customer presentations as needed to secure newbusiness.
- Conduct quarterly (at a minimum)sales meetings with the sales staff.
- Reviewmonthly incentive compensation calculations and draw accountrequests for Project Managers.
Qualifications
- Significant experience (1015 years) in managinga professional workforce in a contractingenvironment.
- Ability to assimilate complexbusiness issues and reach actionable conclusions orplans.
- Welldeveloped interviewing performanceassessment and coaching capabilities.
- Sellingexperience in New Construction and Retrofit controls within thecontracting environment.
- Experience in salaryand incentive compensationadministration.
- Profit and loss responsibilityin a contracting environment.
- Exposure tomechanical systems engineering andequipment.
- Strong technical understanding ofproducts and systems represented by thecompany.
- Demonstrated ability to develop andexecute business plans for 1 3 and 5year periods to profitably growthe business.
- Valid drivers license andappropriate vehicle insurance.
