Job Description
Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the Nursing Process and following all established standards of practice within State and Federal guidelines.
The VIR Nurse-Specialist will be proficient in patient assessment and be competent in the management of the Vascular Interventional Radiology patients, which included the radiology and cardiac population, before, during and after their procedures.
The VIR Nurse-Specialist will also be required to take an "on call schedule during non-operational hours of the lab to provide coverage for emergency cases.
When assigned the charge role the VIR Nurse-Specialist will coordinate the operating schedule and supervise unit activities.
In addition he / she will provide supervision of non-RN personnel.

Qualifications
1) Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
2) Valid license as Registered Nurse in Connecticut.
3) Maintain minimum of 6 contact hours annually.
4) BCLS, ACLS. PALS, required within 6 months of hire.
5) Moderate Sedation
6) 2-3 year critical care experience preferred. This includes ER experience.
