Job Description Summary : The Senior Legal Counsel (L27) role is focused on supporting all teams responsible for all US buy now, pay later product offerings.
This support includes providing guidance from inception of an initiative through its planning, development, preparedness, and launch, and then carrying through post-launch for all aspects of the product lifecycle pre-collections.

Qualifications :
- Significant expertise in legal issues arising in areas such as credit and lending, buy now pay later products, financial services, consumer protection, and marketing.
- Prior experience in state laws governing consumer credit installment products, including licensing.
- Prior experience in federal laws and regulations affecting payments, consumer protection, credit, and lending.
- Experience dealing with regulatory bodies, regulatory exams, internal and third-party audits.
- Experience supporting compliance and risk teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and tolerate change and ambiguity.
- Ability and drive to take ownership of projects and tasks.
- Strong proficiency in working with a team-based approach and knowledge sharing.
- Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
- 7 or more years of relevant experience practicing either in-house or at a reputable law firm.
- Juris Doctorate or equivalent degree. Admitted to a state bar and in good standing.
- Exceptional writing skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to work both in teams and independently.
- Ability to effectively synthesize and explain complex legal requirements to clients.
