Responsibilities
- Manage all components of the Trauma Registry, including data collection, data entry, and data retrieval / statistical conversion.
- Review trauma admission records for data collection and abstraction.
- Analyze all records for quality assurance trauma standards recommended by governing bodies and as stipulated by regulatory groups.
- Perform the abstraction, coding (ICD) and application of all trauma data points in the registry taken primarily from inpatient trauma cases.
- Apprise program coordinator of all relevant trauma audit filter inconsistencies via periodic quality assurance reports.
Produce various other quality assurance reports as directed.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration :
- Preferred Credential(s) :
- Registrar specializing in Trauma Registry.
Education :
High School diploma equivalency and 2 years of cumulative experience or Associate's
degree / Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Additional Preferences
- Prior experience as a Trauma Registrar highly preferred
- ICD coding experience highly preferred
- Medical Terminology knowledge preferred
- HIM degree preferred
- Data abstraction experience preferred
