• POSITION STATEMENT :

The primary purpose of the Advanced Practice Nurse is diagnosing, treating, evaluating and managing mental health issues, as well as psychiatric evaluations : Obtaining medical and psychiatric history.

He / she must have excellent ability to work with clients with substance abuse and mental health disorders.

• MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
• Must be Board licensed and certified Advanced Practice Nurse / Family Nurse Practitioner by the state of Delaware
• Required to have a joint protocol with a collaborating physician who is licensed in Delaware prior to prescribing any medication or medical device.
• Excellent communication skills and organizational skills
• Excellent ability to work with clients with substance abuse and mental health disorders
• Ability to train and evaluate multiple level support staff
• Excellent writing skills and record keeping skills
• Detail oriented
• Knowledge of medical conditions, psychiatric conditions, and medications
• Ability to deal with diverse populations
• Ability to route patient's problems and concerns to appropriate sources
• Ability to stay within boundaries of the role and function of position
• Critical thinking skills
• Ability to evaluate and comprehend techniques, procedures and changes to meet variable situations
