St. Pius X Catholic School has an opening for a part-time music teacher for students in grades preschool through 8 for the 2024-2025 school year.

We are a culturally diverse school located just north of Seattle in the community of Mountlake Terrace. The position requires the successful candidate to be a practicing Catholic.

In addition, the candidate must hold a current State of Washington teacher certification certificate or the ability to obtain one if they hold such certification from another state.

A student teacher may be considered.

We have a very strong, dedicated staff working collaboratively in a positive and supportive school environment.

Qualifications for a strong candidate :

• Teach weekly music classes for students in grades preschool through 8. Predominantly choral music; open to band and instrumental instruction.
• Lead the weekly children's choir during weekday Mass.
• Prepare choral music for the twice annual all school performances of the Nativity and the Spring Concert.
• Lead the Honors Choir and conduct during special event performances.
• Create a positive classroom environment that supports the whole child and actively addresses the needs of diverse learners.
• Collaborate and work well within a professional learning community.
• Effectively communicate with parents, students, and staff verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate a growth mindset and an openness to feedback.
• Possess skills to utilize technology to aid instruction assessment, and learning.

Salary information : Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.

For a student teacher, the salary, while they are completing their student teaching, will be below the range until they complete their student teaching, at such time, their salary will be adjusted.
