Basic Qualifications

Associate's degree in related discipline or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS :

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S.

Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

NOTE : This position is about 95% REMOTE. The Candidate is required to come into the office in National City, CA o nce a week for meetings ( 1 hour / week) and once a week or so for a ship check to verify materials against requirements.

The Sr Adv Engineering Tech Preventative Maintenance Advance Planner ensures preventative maintenance is schedule IAW government policies to achieve maximum equipment operational readiness onboard US Naval ships.

You will engage in coordination of the Preventative Maintenance schedule and help identify materials needed to accomplish preventative maintenance during all ship availabilities.

You will maintain and update the PMS deck Maintenance Index Pages (MIPs) and associated Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs) Library for LCS class ships and other classes.

Updates shall be based on Force Revisions / Advance Change Notices (ACNs) issued by the cognizant Navy technical authority.

You will report anomalies to technical management and maintain preventative maintenance status logs as required. When a discrepancy or error is noted in an MRC or a maintenance action is required to be altered due to equipment modification or modernization, identify the discrepancy to the Government and prepare a Technical Feed Back Report (TFBR) for submission to the Government for review and consideration.

This position will require the ability to work from tech manuals, vendor documentation, schematics, and engineering drawing to supports the ship's preventative maintenance efforts.

You will be expected to be proficient in U.S Navy 3-M Preventative Maintenance System (PMS) policies and NAVSEALOGCEN policies.

This position will be based in San Diego, and will support the ship, including travel to other domestic ports and OCONUS ports as appropriate.

The selected candidate will be expected to travel 10% of the time supporting class ships in a post-delivery environment.

The candidate will work within the parameters and rules common to U.S. Naval vessels.

The Sr Adv Engineering Tech Preventative Maintenance Advance Planner will act as a leader and mentor to new technicians in the support of engineering activities such as designing, testing, checking-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser / light transmission devices or specialized test equipment.

This may entail performing the following :

  • Interprets complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understand the necessary interfaces
  • Performs complex system level troubleshooting to component level
  • Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions
  • Lays out, builds, calibrates, adjusts, installs and maintains equipment, components, devices or systems

Target salary range : USD $36.00 / Hr. - USD $38.61 / Hr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.
