POSITION PURPOSE

The Program Quality Director for the Medical Disability Examination (MDE) Program is responsible for overseeing and inspecting the quality processes for the delivery of services supporting the Department of Veteran Affairs through the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) MDE Program under the authorized VA contract awarded.

This role involves ensuring that examination delivery processes are conducted in compliance with regulatory standards and best practices, promoting continuous improvement in service delivery, and enhancing the overall experience for veterans seeking benefits.

Pay : Starting at $95,000 / year

TRAVEL

Travel is 50% required

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Business or Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred

Experience Requirements :

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality assurance, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of implementing quality improvement initiatives.

Preferred Certifications :

  • Certified Quality Manager (CQM)
  • Six Sigma Green / Black Belt
  • Certified Quality Auditor

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Compliance Monitoring : Ensure compliance with federal, state, and VA regulations, standards, and policies regarding disability evaluations.
  • Training and Development : Collaborate on training initiatives for medical professionals and support staff to ensure they are well-versed in assessment standards and documentation practices.
  • Data Analysis : Analyze examination results and related data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for enhancing quality of care and operations
  • Reporting : Prepare and present reports on quality metrics, findings, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with medical staff, VA representatives, as well as internal and external partners to foster a collaborative environment focused on improving service delivery.
  • Policy Development : Contribute to the development and revision of operational policies and procedures to align with best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Issue Resolution : Address and resolve quality-related issues and complaints, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Reporting to either the Chief Business Officer or the Corporate Director of Quality
