Accountant

The accountant will be an integral member of the team and must be able to proficiently perform all the company’s accounting functions, performing a variety of tasks with minimal supervision.

This position will report directly to the VP of Finance and co-drive implementation of multiple systems including an accounting system, payroll system, CRM / ATS systems.

In addition, to creating all procedures and policies and ensure the accurate analysis, compilation, and reporting of accounting data.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team setting and is not afraid to wear multiple hats within two challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support local, state, and federal government reporting and tax filings
• Perform Accounts Payable
• Perform Accounts Receivable
• Perform Payroll
• Perform Billing
• Perform Journal entries
• Field finance & accounting inquiries and respond timely to internal & external stakeholders
• Bank reconciliation
• Account reconciliations
• Preparation and analyzing financial reports and journal entries, maintaining and reconciling ledger accounts
• Monitoring and reviewing all records of assets, liabilities, and other financial transitions.
• Review general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Responsibility for all basic accounting procedures; financial statement preparation, month end closing; journal entries and general ledger maintenance and fixed assets
• Assist in building of back-office procedures and processes for operational efficiency

Requirements :

• 2-6 years’ experience in accounting, including considerable experience with month end close.
• Experience in closing a general ledger and / or audit, account reconciliation, JE preparation and support.
• Intermediate to advanced experience with systems (Great Plains, ATS / CRM / payroll)
• Experience with a range of tax and regulatory filings.
• A focus on attention to details, accuracy and precision in tasks and projects
• Exceptional time management skills and accountability
• Ability to think critically and adapt quickly in a flexible environment.
• Collaborator mindset with an ability to work cross functionally in a collaborative fashion.
• Ambitious spirit / initiative-taker
• Advanced Excel skills
• BS degree in accounting required.
• Master’s Degree & additional certifications highly desired
