Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Are you a skilled Maintenance Engineer with a passion for hands-on repair work? Tegel Foods Ltd is currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Maintenance Engineers based in Henderson, reporting to our Auckland Engineering Manager.

This is a night shift position, with the work hours being 5pm - 5 am on a rotating roster, which includes weekend work every second week.

In total, you will be working 7 days out of 14 across the 2-week roster. Great hours for work life balance!

A day in the life of Maintenance Engineer

• Responding to equipment breakdown or faults, providing first line diagnostics and repairs to ensure maximum uptime for the plant.
• Carry out preventative maintenance inspections, adjustment or lubrication so that potential mechanical / electrical problems are identified early, and remedial action is taken to prevent unnecessary downtime from occurring.
• Plant scheduled activities are completed when due, schedules are updated to meet plant changing needs, plant maintenance documentation is completed & updated via CMMS.
• Perform failure analysis for downtime equipment which meets agreed trigger points.
• Inspect machine performance against historical & manufacturer's specifications, liaise with production, diagnose problems & potential for improvement, recommend and implement actions.

What will you bring?

• Relevant Trade Qualification.
• Welding or machining skills.
• Experience with preventative maintenance.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels within the plant.
• Flexible approach to work hours / days of work (including weekends)
• Experience in FMCG environment (preferred)
