Responsibilities
Lead and perform technical functions of the department to include medical record completion, storage of records, retrieval and release of medical information.
- Assist with maintaining daily operations, training and monitoring quality standards.
- Assist team members with issues requiring immediate attention.
- Serve as a liaison to other departments.
- Perform duties of team members as assigned.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration :
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred.
- Reg Health Info Admin credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred.
- Reg Health Info Tech credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred.
- Certified Coding Associate (CCA) credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred.
Education :
- High School diploma equivalency with 1 year of experience OR 2 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Note : Required professional licensure / certification and 1 year of experience can be used in lieu of education, if applicable.
Additional Preferences
- 2-3 years Health Information Management experience, Epic experience a plus.
