Position Overview :
The Art and Technology Teacher will be responsible for creating and delivering a stimulating curriculum that engages students in artistic expression and technological literacy.
This role involves teaching art and technology classes to elementary students, integrating faith-based principles into lessons, and promoting a creative and innovative learning environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement engaging art and technology lesson plans that align with both academic standards and Catholic values.
- Teach students a range of artistic techniques and technological skills, encouraging creativity and critical thinking.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student growth and confidence.
- Integrate faith-based themes into art and technology projects to reinforce the school’s Catholic identity.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to enhance cross-curricular projects and school-wide initiatives.
- Organize and oversee art exhibitions, technology fairs, and other relevant events.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and inspiring classroom environment.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Technology Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification in New York State or eligibility for certification.
- Proven experience teaching art and / or technology at the elementary level.
- Strong understanding of Catholic education and the ability to incorporate faith-based principles into the curriculum.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate young learners with diverse needs and backgrounds.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
Preferred Attributes :
- Experience with digital art tools and educational technology.
- Familiarity with integrating STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) into the curriculum.
- Enthusiasm for fostering a love of learning and exploration in students.
Wage Range : $32,000 to $34,000.
