What we need :
Natco is seeking a talented and self-motivated Textile Designer to join our Rug Design Team. This is a hybrid position based out of our West Warwick, RI corporate headquarters.
The primary function of this role will be to assist in the design and development of printed, woven, and tufted rugs under the guidance of the Design Director.
What you’ll do :
- Oversee designs throughout the product development cycle of concept and presentation to production; effectively communicating with the sales team and our global network of suppliers throughout the process
- Create and color artwork for printed, woven, and tufted rug applications
- Put together design presentations for sales meetings and Home Fashion Markets
- Work collaboratively with the design team on all presentations and designs
- Stay informed of trends in home interior markets across multiple customer bases
- Generate design ideas based on key trends and customer requests
- Assist the Design Director in putting together Color and Trend presentations for sales meetings and Home Fashion Markets
- Create production files and spec sheets for factories
- Travel to relevant stores and designs shows to research new and relevant trends
- Assist with other projects or duties as assigned by Design Director
What you’ll have :
- Bachelor’s degree in design, art, or related field
- A minimum of 1 year of industry experience preferred
- Expert level experience in Photoshop and Illustrator
- Strong knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office programs
- A background in rugs and using Ned Graphics / Texcelle is a plus

- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Critical eye with the ability to comprehend pattern in repeat, scale, and color
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and manage a workload effectively
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Genuine enthusiasm and desire to learn
- Adaptable and reliable with the ability to self-direct as well as work effectively as part of a team
