SUMMARY
Directs and supervises electrical maintenance workforce composed of salary and hourly personnel at the Lake Charles South facility.
This group is responsible for repairing, preventative maintenance, regulatory compliance testing and strategic improvements of the site electrical systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops a Safety Culture within the group and ensures personnel have necessary training and comply with Safety procedures and requirements.
Holds Safety Meetings monthly and leads and participates in periodic Safety Audits.
Familiar with all Plant Safety Standards and ensures electrical personnel receive training on these standards / procedures per site requirements.
Supervises and assigns work to Electrical Maintenance Supervisors and Planners in the performance of repairs and preventative maintenance.
Oversees the training program for hourly personnel and evaluates proficiency
Participates in performance reviews of all hourly and salary personnel in the Electrical Maintenance group and provides effective feedback to all reports.
Organizes an effective work force to provide support to plant operations on a 24 / 7 basis.
Provides information to Reliability Engineering personnel to update maintenance records and procedures as necessary, provides effective feedback to operations.
Recommends necessary spare parts for critical electrical equipment.
Ensures all compliance testing for the site is performed within the allotted timeframes and assigns personnel accordingly to complete the task.
Manages site personnel assignments based on work priorities in the various plants and units at LCS.
Ensures that good work management practices are followed and KPI’s are maintained at acceptable targets.
Ensure that the Electrical Maintenance org chart is aligned and maintained to perform safe, regulatory compliant, and efficient work.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
A current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required.
8 years maintenance experience in plant electrical maintenance with five years in a supervisory capacity preferred.
Experience with NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B, NFPA 70, and DOT regulations is preferred.
High Voltage (69-230KV) experience preferred.
Skilled in oral and written communication
Successful candidates must satisfy background screening, including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing & pre-employment physical requirements before starting work.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel;
reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee must be able to work in a normal factory environment, including enclosed spaces and exposure to various hazards.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, flame retardant clothing, etc.
May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
