Job Description :
L3Harris is looking for an experienced Program Master Planner who will be part of the Program Master Planning Department in SLC.
Your primary function will be to support the Program Management Teams. This requires an in-depth knowledge of Program Life cycles.
Essential Functions :
- Prepares, develops and coordinates the integrated master plan and integrated master schedule to meet all program objectives.
- Ensures major projects and program schedules and plans are horizontally and vertically integrated across company functional groups including finance;
engineering; material; manufacturing; and quality.
- Tracks plans and schedules; performs risk analysis; identifies and resolves critical path and network logic conflicts.
- Utilizes Gantt; PERT; Critical Path; milestone charts; earned value management and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances, to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas.
- Manage the information within the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), utilizing experience based skill sets and knowledge to develop, interpret and analyze the schedule / cost data.
- Effective communicator, able to disseminate and explain data to the entire program team, driving the planning process to ensure the IMS accurately reflects 1) how the work is accomplished and, 2) provide data in a form that will aid the team in making sound management decisions.
- The Program Master Planner will have sufficient knowledge, training, and understanding of the scheduling discipline prior to support a program.
- The Program Master Planner will lead the team in the use of sound scheduling practices; ensuring program processes align with Enterprise guidelines or Systems descriptions and actively participates as a valued member of the program leadership team.
This includes the development of a logically linked network to allow accurate critical path analysis based on network calculations / logic, validation of staffing load with a resource loaded schedule, and regular review of program data by the core program team to assess accuracy and feasibility and promote team buy-in.
The Program Master Planner should be knowledgeable on all policies and procedures that affect the IMS and be able to translate and apply these requirements on the programs, they support.
They also will need to provide detailed analysis of the IMS associated with each update, processing change request with documented visibility into the change, or award of additional scope.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills :
- The Planner / Scheduler must possess effective communication skills, be capable of interacting and leading a team, be experienced with problem solving techniques and application of risk mitigation processes with regard to schedules and be highly experienced with :
- Schedule specific tools, such as MS Project Professional, MS Project Server
- Working with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Fundamentals of Planning, with Cost / Schedule Integration and Schedule Analysis
- Critical Path Analysis, Schedule Risk Analysis
- Schedule Metric Analysis such as BEI, CPLI, SPI, etc.
- Subcontractors schedule integration
- Managing Risk and Opportunity in the IMS
- Knowledge of EVMS desired
