Project Manager - Plumbing

Plumbing Indianapolis, Indiana Minimum Experience Experienced GEMCO Constructors, LLC, headquartered in Indianapolis, IN, is a mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation systems and service contractor providing comprehensive design and build solutions for its customers throughout the United States.

Position Summary

The Project Manager plans, directs, coordinates and budgets activities concerned with the construction of the trade scope on projects.

The PM participates in the conceptual development of construction projects and oversees their organization, scheduling and implementation.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Work with superintendents and foremen to plan, organize and direct activities concerned with construction projects. ?
• Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specifications.

Confer with supervisors and foremen to discuss such matters as work procedures, complaints and construction problems.

• Initiate and maintain liaison with customers and other contacts to facilitate project activities.
• Monitor and control project through administrative direction of on-site foremen to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget.
• Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
• Represent company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings.
• Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect companys interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the customer.
• May requisition supplies and materials to complete project.
• Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers and clients.
• Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs and scheduling.
• Work with Superintendent to assign workers to construction sites to work on specified projects.

Requirements

• Above standard knowledge and usage of Microsoft Office products
• Knowledge of the fundamentals of project management software
• Understand the fundamentals of project forecasting
• Understand purchasing and purchase planning
• Adept at blueprint reading and material takeoff
• Prefer a familiarity with design-build concept
• Must have a minimum of 5-years experience in commercial plumbing project management.
• No licensing is required but field plumbing experience is preferred.

Physical Demands

• Required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Frequently lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
