The Employee Benefits Account Executive is responsible for account management, direct sales and customer service support to the sales team using a variety of skills and knowledge of the insurance market, products, and competition.
This role provides a source of insurance expertise and strategic analysis to clients and prospects as well as assists in the growth and profitability of the department.

General Responsibilities
- Proactively manage and retain existing book of business and pursue new opportunities for the book, where appropriate, including a specific business plan for growth.
- Develop relationships with larger and more complex clients in order to retain business and increase revenue.
- Manage a book of business to include renewal preparation, marketing and negotiation, developing presentations, strategic planning, open enrollment communication, carrier implementation and year-round customer service.
- Assist the Sales Executive with pursuing relationships with potential new accounts and seeks business expansion opportunities with current clients.
- Detailed knowledge of products and services being offered and ensures that products and services consistently meet client needs.
- Visit client locations periodically to ensure client satisfaction and promote ongoing contract renewal.
- Provide sales quotations and respond to requests for proposals.
- Educate clients on compliance responsibilities for federal & state laws affecting benefits plans.
- Highly independent.
- May assume a team lead role for the work group.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry changes and trends.
- Follow up to address customer needs and resolve any problems or issues.
- Develop and oversee customer service plans for each client and understand the needs of the customer.
- Coordinate and manage the marketing process for all clients in assigned book of business.
- Develop, implement and monitor strategic initiatives to help clients with cost containment and compliance strategies.
- Assist clients with day-to-day transactions such as enrollment, employee education, billing, compliance, and claims.
- Maintain and update the agency management system timely and accurately.
- Promote teamwork and commitment to department goals.
- Develop positive business relationships with clients, co-workers, and carrier representatives.
- Top Gun reporting of New and Lost Business.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Florida Life & Health Insurance license.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite and Excel.
- Exceptional telephone demeanor.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s in a business or financial related discipline.
- Professional designation.
- Minimum typing speed of 40 to 50 words per minute.
- Agency Management System knowledge.
