Required Education and Experience
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience with an Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing and a valid Registered Nurse license issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing or a state Nursing Board in the "Compact State Agreement".
Essential Functions

- Responsible, in designated role, for providing, directly or through contract, competitive / supported employment / work training for all Bingham Gardens residents.
- Responsible for ensuring all Bingham Gardens residents are given ample and sufficient support and services necessary to ensure they can become an active member within the community which will assist with enhancing their lives.
- Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs thorough nursing assessments, provides care for ill or injured clients, and documents care in client's chart.
- Follow Nursing Plan of Care. Administer medication and treatment.
- Supervises licensed practical nurse and sub-professional staff in executing physicians' orders and proper nursing procedures.
Ensures all physician orders are carried out in a timely manner.
- Administration of medications via feeding tube, PO, or IV. Administers injections. Responds to facility emergency codes.
- Serves as a member of the client's treatment team, investigates and reports on unusual incidents involving client care.
- Reports physical signs and symptoms, and mental status to the physician. Makes medical nursing rounds.
- Performs thorough nursing assessments on new admissions.
- Interacts with clients and families and explains treatment to the level of their understanding.
- Attends in-service training programs and participates in drills for and responds to facility emergencies.
- Learn and follow all policies and procedures.
- Ensures all documentation in client's chart is thorough, clear, concise, and timely.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position requires supervision of LPNs.
