A construction and development firm in Florida is seeking an experienced Accountant from the construction industry to join their growing team as the new Staff Accountant.
Responsibilities :
The Staff Accountant will :
- Learn and help with the month-end close process
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements
- Construction project setup and maintenance of all jobs with cost codes in accounting system
- Acquire any missing owner change order documentation from Project teams
- Check and balance owner billings for accuracy prior to posting
- Data entry into Software to reflect owner Change Order in Microsoft Access and CMiC validation
- Reconciliation of change orders; executed vs. posted
- Prepare Work in Progress (WIP) reporting. Requires an understanding of percent completion revenue recognition
- Accounts Receivable and cash activity postings
Qualifications :
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in construction or related industry
- Bachelors in Accounting required
- Construction accounting experience including job costing, WHIP reports, Cash Receipts, and Billing
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, and accounting software
Desired Skills :
- CMIC software experience
