Radiology Breast Imaging
Full Time
Day Shift (Mon-Fri 7 : 30A-3 : 30PM / 8a-4p)
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- Professional Excellence : & Understand and adhere to our Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors.
- Patient-Centric Care : & Prepare and position patients accurately for specific examinations, considering different and special requirements for each protocol.
- Collaborative Teamwork : & Assume responsibilities for designated areas and / or procedures, producing high-quality technical images, and assisting physicians during procedures as necessary.
- Operational Efficiency : & Perform equipment quality assurance and calibrations as needed. Maintain cleanliness and order of work areas, reporting any malfunctioning equipment promptly.
- Emergency Preparedness : & Be available for holidays, overtime, and / or day, evening, and overnight shift coverage as needed to ensure safe and adequate outpatient facility coverage.
- Digital Proficiency : & Process film / images or print CDs when needed. Perform routine office tasks, including answering phones, checking-in patients, and obtaining previous reports / films.
- Patient Education : & Introduce yourself and educate each patient or family member regarding the ordered examination. Uphold our behavioral standards in all interactions.
- Continual Learning : & Stay knowledgeable and skillful in providing care for various patient populations, including neonate / newborn, pediatric / adolescent, adults, and geriatric groups.
- Certification Commitment : & Attend staff meetings and in-services. Be open to coverage rotation to other outpatient offsites.
Education Experience Requirements :
- High School Diploma / GED required.
- Graduate of an allied health education program and accredited radiography school or hospital-based program.
- NY State DOH Licensure or Limited Permit required. ARRT registered (RT).
- Passing advanced Mammography examination / certification preferred or within 1 year from date of hire.
- 40 hours of training in mammography during orientation, including anatomy and physiology, QA / QC, and 25 mammography exams under direct supervision by an MQSA individual.
- Uphold continuing education requirements, with 24 ECE credits over a two-year period depending on the year of birth and 15 category 1 CEU in mammography in a 36-month period.
- BLS certification through the (AHA) American Heart Association is required or must be completed within 90 days of hire.
- Radiation dose pledge for both Image Gently and Image Wisely through the American College of Radiology (ACR) performed during orientation and before the end of the probationary period.
