Position Overview

The Category Manager Parcel & Packaging will lead the parcel and packaging categories working cross functionally within Navistar interfacing with logistics, supply chain, finance, and suppliers.

As Category Manager Parcel & Packaging you will be responsible for developing and implementing parcel and packaging sourcing strategies, driving cost reductions, supply base management and negotiating and executing agreements.

The Category Manager’s key activities include, developing sourcing strategies (including collaborations with other VW brands), executing bids, supplier contract negotiations, identifying cost reduction opportunities and overall supplier performance management for cost, quality, and delivery.

Responsibilities Develop and execute sourcing strategies for parcel and packaging, to align with Navistar’s business objectives Lead strategic sourcing decisions for new scope as well as current business for improved cost, quality, or delivery opportunities Execute VW NAR Logistics Business Plan, driving collaboration opportunities with sister brands Research industry trends, benchmark data, and understand underlying cost drivers Analyze category spend to identify and develop savings opportunities, and work with the logistics and supply chain teams to develop cost budgets Build strong strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure that cost competitiveness, on time delivery, and service meet or exceed expectations Drive compliance to Navistar Sourcing Policy and VW approval process Focus on continuous improvement of current processes and systems Responsibility for YOY savings and other key metrics within parcel and packaging Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree At least 2 years of purchasing / procurement experience OR Master's degree OR At least 4 years of purchasing / procurement experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
