Responsibilities
Primary
- New product introduction (NPI) plated parts
- Chemical bath testing and maintenance
- Process controls management
- Planned and unplanned plating equipment maintenance
- Chemical Safety Environmental Safety Team collaboration
- Material inventory and management purchasing team collaboration
- Plating thickness, adhesion, and other quality verification
- Use of x-ray equipment for quality verification
- Lead efforts to track down and resolve, downtime, yield, and quality issues.
- Support new equipment installations and training.
- Support new employee training efforts in Plating work area (Assemblers and Technicians)
- Responsible for writing purchase requisitions for tools, spare parts, and consumables.
- Documentation ownership write and revise Work Instructions
Secondary (Finishing)
Supporting equipment and processes in finishing work center. Trouble shoot equipment and processes as assembler support.
Support new equipment installations and training. Support new employee training efforts in finishing work center. Perform equipment maintenance (scheduled and unscheduled) to ensure tools are safe and running effectively.
Effectively communicate with all team members (including off shift teams, assemblers, fellow technicians, engineers, and Supervisors) sharing equipment & process details encountered during the shift.
Qualifications :
- Two-year technical degree in Mechanical, electrical, and / or electronics preferred.
- Typically requires a minimum of 4 years of experience as a plating technician working directly with chemical plating practices.
- Familiar with applicable software (e.g., AutoCAD, Excel, Word) software.
- Must be safety conscious and possess a basic understanding of Personal Protective Equipment and techniques.
- Must have a strong mechanical aptitude with excellent equipment troubleshooting abilities.
- Must be able to work from detailed drawings, assembly diagrams, specifications and / or verbal instructions required to perform the job.
- Must be VERY quality focused and capable of working in a fast-paced, high-mix / medium-volume environment and able to find quick solutions to immediate problems.
- Must get along well with others and maintain a professional attitude especially when dealing with difficult situations.
- Must be willing to work a 12 hour day shift on a 2-2-3 schedule.
