ROLE SUMMARY
The Dietary Aide assists in all areas of the café and kitchen. This position prepares and passes out nourishments including tray line, maintains floor stock and cleanliness / sanitation of work area and equipment.
Dietary Aides work in collaboration with the Diet Clerk.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares and portions all food products according to standard serving sizes.
- Makes a conscious effort to tidy and clean café and kitchen at all times, assists in dish area as needed.
- Accurately records diet orders and patient requests and route requests as appropriate.
- Safely operates and maintains kitchen equipment.
- Practices safe food handling standards and maintains proper temperatures for all food items before, during, and after meals;
accurately records temperatures in log.
- Exhibits teamwork and efficient time management by using extra time to assist others coworkers and / or keeps busy cleaning.
- Organizes time to accommodate workload, including unanticipated changes in workload.
- Continuously monitors for unsafe situations within the department to prevent injury.
- Provides excellent customer service to all patients, visitors, & staff.
- Work as a team player to complete all job assignments.
- Supports innovations that are introduced by team leaders and managers.
- Keeps adequate levels of supplies stocked in area, so the next shift has needed items readily available.
- Works as an active team participant towards solutions to common problems.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education : High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Experience : Previous food service experience preferred.
Licenses / Certificates / Registration : Washington State (DOH) Food Handlers card required.
