Industrial Power Saw Operator / Material Handler :
Summary of Responsibilities :
- Set-up and operate various sizes and types of power saws to cut materials (primarily metal) to meet required engineering drawings, shop orders, and instructions and production schedule(s)
- Receive, move and stage parts to proper locations based on the operations listed on shop orders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Read and interpret engineering detail drawings
- Receive, store and inventory raw materials according to size and type
- Preparation of material for cutting (measured to drawing required sizes)
- Use of templates to scribe outlines for contour cutting
- Adjust equipment to obtain the best cut requirements and economy
- Use saw manufacturer’s recommended procedure to properly perform cutting operations.
- Ability to move and stage product between throughout the shop as required on the shop orders (router)
- Perform prescribed operator and preventive maintenance on machines as required by PM schedule
- Read, interpret, and apply documents such as : safety manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, diagrams, procedure manual
- Other duties assigned by Management
Education & Required Skills :
- Minimum 2 years experience as a power saw operator
- Experienced forklift driver (certification preferred)
- Experienced crane and rigging (certification preferred)
- Proficient at reading, interpreting engineering drawings, cut orders and routers
- Strong ability to use hand held measuring instruments (tape measure and calipers)
- Strong knowledge in sawing raw materials
- Accurate saw operation, first time right
