What you will do

Reporting to the Executive Director Specialty Services, you will play a critical role in helping the Company achieve its mission by leading partner and capability development in distributed energy resources.

In this role you will partner with internal JCI teams and steer external alliances to lead new distributed energy resources business opportunities which help drive customer decarbonization and leverage and complement utility power industry grid resilience and decarbonization.

How you will do it

You will be responsible for the global, grid-interactive optimization P&L to include GTM strategy, sales and operations team building, and leadership

Provide demand response program, electricity supply market and asset analytics subject matter expertise to digital product management and engineering in support of developing, and evolving, the OpenBlue grid-interactive optimization application

Structure and lead DR aggregator, utility, battery storage (Stem and others), EV charging and other supporting partnerships

Coordinate the integration of solar and renewable energy supply services, and JCI core offerings, into the grid-interactive optimization business

Work with cross functional teams to launch and scale the grid-interactive optimization business by developing effective messaging, efficient processes, and acceptable risk management practices

Focus on excellence through execution of the GTM plan, focusing on early identification of issues and resolution.

Research new and competitive offerings to continuously fine-tune JCI’s offering for customer and market success

Provide JCI’s sales teams with sales support to assist in closing solar, battery storage, EV charging and grid-interactive customer opportunities.

Support the integration of grid-interactive solutions into JCI’s renewable energy supply services and broader sustainability offerings.

Collaborate with JCI’s strategy team and consultants on grid-interactive and battery storage market, and technology opportunities, and integration with core offerings.

Partner with JCI’s corporate development and M&A teams, and consultants, to identify potential DER target companies and provide due diligence, as required.

Assist JCI teams with the integration of successful solar, battery storage and / or grid-interactive solution M&A pursuits.

What we look for

Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from a top academic institution

MBA required

Proven P&L leadership experience in grid-interactive building and DER technologies with a strategic approach, ability to create and lead business innovation teams within a corporate environment.

10+ years' of senior sales, operations and / or consulting experience with demand response programs, competitive retail electricity pricing and utility rate plans

10+ years’ product and / or general management experience in building energy simulation software development

5+ years’ experience with selling and / or economic modeling distributed energy resources, to include generation and storage

Your strength’s span both analytical and organizational skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills

A successful candidate will be confident and self-assertive and will provide a strong voice to represent grid-interactivity business requirements and processes with various internal teams to include strategy, finance, ventures, M&A, sales, engineering, ops, legal and regulatory.
